Compilation: the LORE OF THE JOVE

Published: 17 August 2019

A complete writeup of the lore and background of the most esoteric race in the vast world of EVE Online.

The Jove are a prideful, splintered facet of the descendants of mankind - with all its infighting and hubris - and have punctuated every chapter of EVE’s story along its way - from the earliest cataloged era of the game’s story, through to the modern day. The stories of the Drifters and Triglavians both connect back to this common ancestor, which lacks none of the development and mystery of the currently present branches of the Jove in EVE.

Demonstrates: Expository writing and narrative comprehension, interpretation, and deduction - alongside formatting & layout ability.
Length: approx. 8,600 words.

the entangled past & future of the Triglavians and Drifters

Published: 23 May 2019

A thoroughly researched narrative speculation on the deeper story of the ongoing storyline of EVE: the deeply interwoven story of the Drifter and Triglavian precursor factions- both of which were conceived through the growth of far older story strings.

Weaving a cohesive story from the works of various writers - published spanning the 15+ years of EVE’s lifetime - is a daunting and meticulous undertaking. This post attempts to lay out connections between these two groups and other events that have taken place over a decade and-a-half of story development in order to plot a cohesive, immersive narrative spun throughout the history of the gameworld.

Demonstrates: Narrative comprehension, extrapolation, and production skill - alongside formatting & layout ability.
Length: approx. 5,000 words.

Narrative Proposal: Fleshing out Agency Boosters

Published: 1 November 2017

When "Agency" boosters were introduced to EVE Online, they had barebones names (e.g. Agency Damage Booster 1) and lacked any description or lore/story justification. This Proposal was made with immersion in mind, to create a more universe-fitting nomenclature and justification for the items in-game. Names that accurately reflected usage and flowed more with the rule-of-cool, fleshed-out descriptions giving context to the insertion points for the items, and color-coded icons were included in the proposal.

Developers took up the suggestion, with their own spin, and included the changes in the next major patch (December 2017).
